4 Ups & 6 Downs From WWE SmackDown (May 29)

3. Mandy's Dream

Mandy Rose Otis
WWE

There was a lot of eye-rolling over Mandy Rose's staged dream sequence with Otis, but that's pretty much the point of this unrealistic couple. Otis is there for laughs, and he plays his 1980s-style gimmick incredibly well; Otis has blatantly borrowed from the likes of Dusty Rhodes, Buddy Rose and even Bastion Booger for his gig.

Meanwhile, Mandy is the picture-perfect blonde who has fallen for his charms.

It's goofy, it's laughable and it's silly, but that's what WWE are going for. It'd be impossible to break this down critically and review the positives and negatives. Some characters just don't need that kind of analysis, and this pair are two of them. Instead, viewers are encouraged to switch off their brains and just enjoy the ride.

Watching Rose bite her lip as Otis soaks himself in the pool may never get old. The only slight downside to all this was that Mandy didn't reference the beating Sonya Deville gave her last week. WWE might want to be careful they don't go too far into the absurd and forget about why Sonya is p*ssed at her old pal.
