Daniel Bryan and Kane came through the best and worst of their therapy sessions with Dr Shelby to become hugely popular babyfaces by WrestleMania 29, but the Tag Team Title scrap with Big E and Dolph Ziggler carried with it a certain suspense over Ziggler and/or Bryan making it beyond the midcard by the following year's extravaganza.
In the meantime, the pair wrestled as if they didn't need the main event steal the show. A hidden highlight on a show where much of the stuff in the spotlight failed to earn the focus, this absorbing war was a brief reminder of WrestleMania doubles matches of old.
Born of makeshift origins, both duos worked and acted like polished and proficient pairs - a far cry from some of the panic-booked multi-man matches that have often undervalued Vince McMahon's least favourite titles.
