4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (April 26)
2. Talk About Domination
You would think with a three-hour episode of Raw that there would be plenty of time to get the new tag champs, the 24/7 champ, or any number of a host of talented, hungry wrestlers some TV time.
But you’d be wrong. We needed to have Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman eat up the opening 20+ minutes with two matches and the 20-minute main event segment, plus three backstage segments to set everything up. That’s about 45 minutes for one angle: McIntyre and Strowman can’t get along, battle in the ring with a title shot for Braun hanging in the balance.
Yes, this is the WrestleMania Backlash main event. But then, if you throw in Bobby Lashley and MVP’s stuff, that just adds another 10 minutes to the overall angle. That’s a hell of a lot of time and multiple segments just for one match.
But hey, WWE doesn’t have time for wrestlers like Ricochet, Viking Raiders, Drew Gulak, Nikki Cross or Jeff Hardy.
