4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 19 - Review)

3. Giving It More Time

Continuing on our trend of letting the Alexa Bliss storyline play out, we’ll give Monday’s sit-down interview with Five Feet of Fury and Bianca Belair positive marks.

For the first time possibly ever, Bliss finally ran down her entire two-year story arc, starting with Bray Wyatt abducting her and morphing her into an evil presence, then abandoning her (when he got released), and how she entered therapy.

What was revelatory was Alexa admitting that she emerged from therapy as a shell of her former self. As a storyline retcon, this was actually a clever way of explaining how dull and detached Bliss has largely been during this recent run. Giving a reason for it – therapy after her abduction basically lobotomized her – might not excuse months of mismanagement, but it at least gave context after the fact.

Then of course there was the other development. Belair wisely said she didn’t trust her and wasn’t buying the rationale after nearly being attacked last week. The Raw Women’s Champion didn’t look like a fool who blindly accepted her non-apology. But she turned her back for a split-second, and Bliss – after seeing the Wyatt symbol flash on the screen – smashed a vase on Bianca’s head, laying her out.

Some decent development here, and some legit curiosity about what’s coming next.
