4 Ups & 8 Downs From WWE Raw (March 8)

2. ‘More Black Goo!’

Do you think that’s what Vince McMahon yells backstage every time the Randy Orton/Alexa Bliss/Fiend feud comes up in production meetings?

It sure feels that way, as Orton squared off against AJ Styles on Monday night in a “WrestleMania-worthy match” that was suddenly interrupted by Bliss on the screen. Alexa cut off the pedestrian match by whispering, “Not yet” to her jack-in-the-box, then lighting a match, which triggered Kane’s turnbuckle pyro.

Seconds later, Orton was dribbling black goo from his mouth again, then ate a Phenomenal Forearm, because all of this was happening during the match.

The worst part about this is that a Firefly Funhouse Match involving Orton might actually be entertaining depending on how introspective and “kayfabe” they get (the John Cena match last year was great because they winked at the audience quite a bit).
