4 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (2 Aug)

Damian Priest's appearance on Miz TV was particularly dull, which says a lot, given how long Miz has been playing this tired heel act without evolving. His character and segment format are staler than month-old bread. Moreover, the drip stick deal is juvenile, doesn't draw heat, and makes these grown 30 and 40-somethings look like children playing in a schoolyard, not detestable villains.

And this is yet another retread on a show increasingly full of them, with WWE effectively going back to Priest's WrestleMania 37 feud (albeit without Bad Bunny).

And Morrison threw the worst worked punch in recent memory when things got physical. Priest looked like he missed his ear clap, too.

So yes, this is a Down. A hard Down. Priest had fun with the CM Punk chants and Morrison at least tried to elevate the ghastly material, throwing his personality into each line. That's where the plus points end, though. This is bland, mechanical television that could be written by an algorithm created by a 15-year-old.
