4 Ups & 9 Downs From WWE Raw (July 19)

3. Total Waste Of A Big Return

After nearly six months away, Keith Lee made a much-anticipated return to Raw in his home state of Texas to answer Bobby Lashley’s open challenge.

The pop was huge. The excitement was high. And then Lee lost an extended squash to Lashley to set up Goldberg’s return to challenge the WWE Champion.

No, seriously. That’s how this company rolls. They apparently see money in riding a 54-year-old liability in the ring with two moves rather than actually trying to build something with a 36-year-old hybrid wrestler who is insanely popular with fans.

This is not to say that Lee should have won, but if you weren’t going to beat Lashley or have him look vulnerable at all, then don’t book a returning superstar to face him. Why waste that huge pop and moment to just kill him dead?
