4 Ups And 10 Downs From WWE Raw (Dec 27)

1. Priest Can’t Control His Damian

Oh, for God’s sake.

After giving Damian Priest high marks for his debut year and remaking on how he’s somehow immune to WWE’s crappy booking, Monday’s match came and made a liar of this writer.

Priest’s new gimmick of having a “dark side” that comes out – and is represented by Damian snarling and making a goofy-looking angsty face – has been straddling the line of damaging the wrestler, but Monday night, we saw worst of it. Priest snapped after a few slaps from Dolph Ziggler, leading to him pummeling his opponent in the corner and getting DQ’d for kicking too much a**.

Yep, WWE’s United States Champion, who had been portrayed as a calm and cool guy for much of a successful 2021, is now doing a gimmick where he has a “demon” inside him that comes out when he’s embarrassed, and he loses all control and is unable to concentrate or focus, thus making him a raging loser.

Great stuff from WWE, proving that this company can indeed snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
