4 Ups And 4 Downs From Last Night’s WWE SmackDown (Aug 7)

3. Two New SummerSlam Matches Announced

It's so rare for there to be newsworthy items on Smackdown that when they do things like announcing two SummerSlam matches on the same show it tends to catch me surprise. In the show opening promo that I complained about earlier, Roman Reigns did an okay job talking about his issues with the Wyatt Family. Then he issued a challenge for SummerSlam with him and Dean Ambrose taking on Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. At the end of the show, Wyatt accepted the challenge and the match is on. Also during Smackdown, Big Show was in a backstage segment where he mentioned his SummerSlam match, which is an IC Title match against champion Ryback and The Miz. That match was originally set for Battleground, but Ryback was out with a staph infection. If WWE continues to do stuff like this where they make announcements for PPV matches it will go a long way in making fans think that maybe Smackdown is important after all.
