Ultimately, NXT UK: TakeOver Cardiff was always going to struggle as, if you'll excuse the casual misogyny of this analogy, the ugliest of three suitors vying to dance at this weekend's ludicrously stacked wrestling ball.

Competing against NJPW's Royal Quest and AEW's All Out later in the night, it's eminently understandable if overwhelmed wrestling fans opted to skip what was inarguably the least relevant of the fare on offer. Given how superb the show was, minus a slight lull prior to the main event, it's a bit of a shame. Unless Royal Quest's streaming issues forced disgruntled viewers to switch over, it's likely the majority missed Cesaro's superb flying visit, and a magnificent main event. What a waste.

He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
