DOWNS…

4. A Hot Mess

It’s tough to accurate judge the very first Iron Survivor Challenge match in WWE/NXT history, because there’s nothing to compare it to.

But the women’s match really was a hot mess of a match, with action all over the place, making it difficult to find a thread to follow. The story of the match was Roxanne Perez entering first and pulling out the win at the end. She was down for a good chunk of the match, but once she tied it up on the back end, it was a melee for someone to get the advantage.

To be clear, this wasn’t a bad match – there was plenty happening and some impressive moments, such as Kiana James hitting a Spanish Fly – but even with that narrative being obvious, it wasn’t a really well-told story.

Call it a good effort, a good hot mess, but we’re still going to have to give it a mild down for the disjointed nature of the match.
