In wrestling-speak, Miz and Maryse defeated Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella Sunday night at Hell in a Cell.

The mixed tag match wasn’t patently bad – as long as you have the standard low expectations you need to for these bouts. Mixed tag matches are really tough to do well, and this one stuck with the theme of Maryse being a coward and refusing to fight Brie, despite being a two-time Divas Champion.

That meant Miz and Bryan did the bulk of the wrestling, which was fine, but it’s tough to have consistency under the mixed tag rules. Additionally, it didn’t help that Brie and Maryse couldn’t do anything of note well. Even the finish – a rollup reversal with a handful of tights – didn’t look all that smooth.

It’s understandable that this was the next logical step in the feud, but let’s hope we get the payoff everyone wants: Bryan tapping Miz out in the center of the ring, ideally with a title or championship match on the line.
