4 Ups And 8 Downs From WWE Raw (Feb 14)
5. Never-Ending Promo Train Rolls Into Town
Promo trains for triple threats are bad enough, but when you’re talking about a six-man Elimination Chamber match promo train, it’s brutal.
Raw opened (naturally) with this gabfest, as Bobby Lashley and MVP came out first to just tell us how he’s going to win because of the X-factor of being “All Mighty.” This brought out Seth Rollins, who got in a nice good news/bad news bit about Lashley looking good (but not as good as him), and was champ (but wouldn’t be for long).
Riddle was already wearing his toga and spouted the usual nonsense, while Austin Theory invoked Vince McMahon and AJ Styles just wants a WrestleMania moment.
This all gave way to Brock Lesnar, who put his coat and hat on Theory, which led the youngster to try to jump the Beast from behind. That went as well as you’d expect, as Lesnar dropped Austin with German suplexes and an F-5.
And that was it… aside from Brock taking a selfie with Theory. It was 15 minutes of yapping that said literally nothing, with a fun little payoff that could have come 100 different and less painful ways.
