4 Ups And 9 Downs From WWE Legends Raw (Jan 4)

1. A Solid Title Match

If nothing else, Legends Raw gave us a really good, old school world title match between two super-strong superheavyweights.

Keith Lee challenged Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship in a bout that saw both men tee off on each other and use standard power moves, mixed in with offensive flurries belying their size. Lee hit a Spanish Fly off the top at one point for a close 2 count, while McIntyre came off the top rope for a diving clothesline and countered a backslide with a Futureshock DDT.

In the end though, it was McIntyre escaping a Spirit Bomb and hitting the Claymore Kick for the win. The two friends showed respect afterward. And while Lee lost the match, sometimes there is no shame in losing when you have such a hard-fought match.

Now, if only they could figure out where to go with Lee next so he doesn’t sputter and stall out…
