The “mystery” of who poisoned Montez Ford has gripped the WWE Universe like nothing we’ve ever seen before, with thousands of “Get Well ‘Tez!” cards sent to the company and fans sharing their theories of the case.

…or not.

The foolish storyline entered its third week Monday, with Angelo Dawkins revealing security footage that revealed that Zelina Vega had actually poisoned Ford’s Solo cup two weeks ago after denying it for weeks. This all led to an explosive conclusion: Montez grabbed a rollup on Andrade in their singles match Monday night to set the stage for the Raw Tag Team Championship match at SummerSlam.

Why couldn’t they have just gone for a kneecapping angle or something like that? Why poisoning? Why have it be a mini-mystery that leads back to the original culprit? And why does it have no benefit for the villains who did it, rendering it pointless?

It’s just a bunch of stuff that happened, with no real build or purpose, it seems.
