4 Wrestlers Whose Pasts Caught Up With Them In 2015

1. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka

May 10, 1983 is a day that will forever live in infamy in relation to the Hall of Fame career of Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka. It was on that day that the main event star for the World Wrestling Federation called 9-1-1, in desperate need of an ambulance. When medics arrived, they found the Superstar's girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, injured and unresponsive. She would die from a brain injury, which medical examiners determine was the result of contact with a stationary object. Other scratches, scrapes and bruises were suspicious, perhaps the result of a physical confrontation with Snuka. Though he was the only suspect ever investigated in the crime, and all signs pointed to some sort of foul play, the district attorney never brought charges against the future Hall of Famer. At the same time, they never officially closed the case, either. Over the course of the 32 years that followed the death of Argentino, her sister would work with the Lehigh County Police Department, constantly ensuring that they never forgot the tragedy that befell her family. In 2014, enough evidence had been gathered that the police felt confident enough to present the case to the grand jury. Then, on September 1, 2015, Snuka was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter, correcting an injustice that had laid dormant for far too long. The events of 1983 had long been a black mark on the career of Snuka but until this year, there were never any official charges brought forth, thus allowing the longtime fan-favorite to continue living his life as a star, competing for the adulation of fans across the globe. Now, his legacy in undoubtedly affected by his actions in Allentown, Pennsylvania three decades ago, his place in WWE's Hall of Fame forever tarnished.
