2. 'Mania IX - The Secret Of The Eye?

Hulk Hogan sported a massive shiner at WrestleMania IX.

His own explanation is that he suffered the cosmetic injury in a jet ski accident - but was he rather insensitivity copying Brutus Beefcake's homework?

You know that clichéd sitcom gag, when one of the characters, scrambling to explain some farce or other, looks at a nearby object or person for inspiration to get their story straight? Who's to say that, when probed, in a panicked bid to conceal the real truth, Hogan looked at Beefcake - his tag partner at the time - and remembered that Bruti's face had been surgically reconstructed after a devastating parasailing accident?

"Brother, every bone in my face was broken when I fell off that jet ski. The doctors said it could never be fixed so I performed the surgery myself, Jack!"

There's a rumour out there that suggests Hogan was covering up the "real" story, one propagated by Jim Cornette; allegedly, Savage stormed into Hogan's house upon learning that Hogan and wife Linda had taken his ex-wife Elizabeth into their home, unbeknownst to him. Savage purportedly punched out Hogan in revenge.

Old industry legend, or...?

Hogan is such a demonstrable on-record liar that many will refuse to give him the benefit of the doubt, whether that is fair or otherwise in this particular situation.
