5 AEW Fyter Fest 2020 (Night One) Predictions You Need To Know

3. Women's Title: Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Penelope Ford (w/ Kip Sabian)

Coupled with injuries to Britt Baker and Kris Statlander, the ongoing global health crisis has forced AEW to elevate some women's division wrestlers earlier than they may have liked. Penelope Ford has been the foremost beneficiary of this and has acquired herself well, looking a better wrestler and all-round performer every time we see her, though she remains a long-term project in the meantime.

This short feud has been handled well. 'The Bad Girl' pinned champion Hikaru Shida in a Dynamite tag bout, leading to the title fight as she established herself amongst the top-ranked women in the company. A fiery, heated brawl followed on the go-home show, with Shida and Ford so into it that innocent bystander Ricky Starks walked away with a minor injury, while Kip Sabian was knocked to the floor by the Women's Champion.

It's hard to imagine anything but a win for Shida, who only took the belt from Nyla Rose at Double Or Nothing. Expect an elevatory defeat for Ford, though. The pieces are coming together nicely for her at the moment and Shida is excellent at helping her opponents look like the best versions of themselves, having held many an AEW match together since arriving on American shores. She is the vanguard this division needs.

Winner: Hikaru Shida
