5 Alternative New Members For The Wyatt Family

Who should join Braun Strowman as the next Wyatt family eccentric?

Stables are as old as the hills in professional wrestling, and they have been instrumental in giving certain individuals greater credibility in the eyes of the fans. The Nation of Domination allowed The Rock to rehabilitate from his misguided introduction as Rocky Maivia as well as giving D-Lo Brown a platform from which to make his name. Without Evolution who knows where Batista would be today, although I wager he wouldn't be starring in Hollywood movies.

It hasn't always been a grand success though. We all remember the Nation of Domination, but less fondly Los Boricuas or Disciples of Apocalypse. Kai En Tai and The Mexicools were mired in WWE's covert racism. The Corre were dead on arrival, and can anyone remember who was a part of The Truth Commission? Booking has everything to do with this of course, but stables are a very hit and miss product.

The Wyatt Family currently sit somewhere in the middle here. After causing a storm in NXT, they made their debut on the main roster in 2013 by attacking Kane and have veered between being fantastic or groan worthy. Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Erick Rowan have had varying levels of success in WWE, and the family's numbers recently grew with the addition of Braun Strowman,

It's always fun to speculate on potential additions to stables, so here are five names that I think could benefit from joining The Wyatt family.

5. Bo Dallas

I'll start with the obvious one. Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt might be living in different worlds when it comes to the WWE Universe, but everybody and his dog knows that they are real life brothers. Truth be told, their gimmicks aren't a million miles from each other either. Wyatt is the mysterious cult figure with his brainwashed followers, and Dallas is a faux-motivational (fauxtivational?) speaker imploring people to Bo-lieve. In many ways, Bo Dallas is just a failed Bray Wyatt.

The set up writes itself. Dallas pretty much loses every single match he is a part of, and this will eventually lead to him losing his positive veneer in exchange for a more down-on-his-luck mentality. Enter Wyatt, the man who promises redemption in exchange for unquestioned loyalty. You can even acknowledge their real-life relationship, leading to Dallas' redemption and eventual split from the group. Bo Dallas becomes the babyface you feel WWE wanted him to be originally.

This one seems a little too obvious to happen, but sometimes things make sense for a reason.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
