5 Awesome WWE Network Shows And 5 That Are Terrible
8. Terrible - Ride Along
Ride Along is a fair attempt to look into the hectic lifestyle of WWE superstars as they race from town to town. These car rides have long been the time where the boys book the territory and talk about the business. While in most cases, this is true, WWE's need for scripts comes in again from time to time as they just always need some control over their shows. My dream of unscripted, WWE reality may never happen. Oh well.
For example, I highly doubt that Michael Cole and JBL left Byron Saxton at a truck stop some 40 miles from the next town with only his wallet and a camera crew. Surely the crew could have intervened and helped! This seems like an HR and PR nightmare if it were true (Be a Star JBL & Cole!), but again, this is WWE's worked shoot model for all of their "reality" shows.
It is cool to see the stars interacting with one another out of character and gives us an intimate look into the life they live out of their suitcase and rental cars each week, but there seems to not be anything of interest for them to talk about at times which can make the show boring, and when something on the show does happen, as mentioned before it's WWE writers to rescue to make the show more interesting. In the future, just hit record and go. Or don't put on the show at all.
