3. CM Punk Holds The WWE Title for 1 Year

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hdt52TJQJmU&t=59m24s The WWE have certainly written themselves into something of an awkward position at the moment; they have pushed the whole idea of CM Punk having a long title reign that just might make it to the 365 day milestone, yet they also want to make Ryback a force to be reckoned with while not making him look weak when he loses. While the latter wasn't done so convincingly, the WWE thankfully avoided the temptation to give him an early push and let CM Punk hold onto the strap, allowing him to enter into the history books as one of the few men to hold a top-tier title for 1 year. It's nice to see the WWE calm down and stop playing hot potato with the belt; it brings a little prestige back to the title, and makes it clear that they have unwavering faith in Punk as a champion and as a performer. We can of course expect that Punk will hold onto the title until the new year, when he'll face off against The Rock at the Royal Rumble, and it's likely then that his reign will finally come to an end.
