https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQTrlGtl7R8 Until recently Seth Rollins has been the forgotten man in the Shield. But he serves a very important role for the group. He is usually the one taking the most damage in matches or the pin in most of the Shield losses which, admittedly have been few and far between. There are two reasons why a supremely talented athlete like Rollins does the jobbing. One being that this keeps Reigns protected as he is being groomed as a future star. (To a lesser extent this helps Ambrose as well, who he is being groomed as a top heel. Rollins taking the pin allows for the comeuppance of Ambrose to come much later.) The second reason is that Rollins makes his opponents offense look incredible. When he and Reigns lost at Battleground take a look at this Cross Rhodes, it was one of the best ones you'll ever see. Rollins also isn't afraid to put his body on the line for the sake of the match. During the Shield's first match at WWE TLC he took a nasty fall off of the top of the ladder through a table. He continued to sell well after the match until the other members of the Shield picked him up and carried him to the back. Watch here how he sells Bryan's running knee, no one is getting up from that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIlddl0yRSM Rollins athleticism is second to none of the roster. The things he is capable of doing in the ring are unlike anything seen by WWE audiences in some time. His athleticism is one of the reasons he able to bump and fly all over the ring. Once Rollins turns face he will make an incredible face in peril and will easily get behind him.
