5 Biggest Winners & Losers From WWE Raw (August 1)

2. Losers: Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows

The Club’s Raw representatives got-off to an excellent start last week by interrupting The New Day’s turgid “Sonny Boy” segment by attacking the WWE Tag Team Champions from behind, and leaving them laid out. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows looked dangerous and threatening, and the move seemingly set the wheels in motion for a SummerSlam match between the two groups.

Unfortunately, the duo tuke a huge step backwards this week. Facing-off against Kofi Kingston and Big E, Gallows and Anderson lost in under 90 seconds. They scored some early offence, but a Big E roll-up sealed the deal incredibly prematurely, and The Club emerge from this match looking like clowns.

They recovered their heat with the post-match beatdown and wound-up closing the segment with The New Day’s broken bodies lying around them, but that’s beside the point. WWE booked their Tag Title challengers to lose to the champions in the blink of an eye, as clean as a whistle, and without a single caveat or excuse.

They’ve painted Gallows and Anderson as guys who can only get the job done outside the ring, and that’s a big problem heading towards SummerSlam.

This damage could’ve been completely avoided had WWE booked this as an inconclusive brawl. Instead, they’ve made their “dangerous heel tag team” look like in-ring pushovers.
