5 Biggest Winners & Losers From WWE Raw (Sept 26)

2. Winner: Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks Slap Charlotte

Though outrageously popular, Sasha Banks’ main roster career hasn’t always lived up to the lofty standards she set in NXT. She’s a fantastic wrestler, but she’s not always the most convincing talker, particularly when working with Raw’s heavily-scripted promos. Furthermore, there’s a strong argument to be made that she’s better-suited to playing heel than face, though she benefits from working against Charlotte, who has quietly become one of Raw’s most effective villains.

Despite these minor quibbles, Sasha had a strong night. Her face-to-face with the WWE Women’s Champion (and Dana Brooke) worked on every conceivable level, with Sasha talking with a clarity that’s sometimes lacking from her microphone work. The segment was one of Raw’s highlights, Sasha talked her way into a title shot, and most important of all, she was standing tell when all was said and done.

A brawl broke out once they’d finish talking, and despite facing a numerical disadvantage, Sasha was able to clear the ring of Dana and Charlotte. Momentum-wise, she’s comfortably in the driving seat ahead of their match next week, adding further anticipation for a match fans will never grow tired of seeing.
