1. Winner: Dean Ambrose

What a difference a week makes. Last time round, Dean Ambrose was in the doldrums. James Ellsworth’s buffoonery had cost him another shot at AJ Styles, and after losing successive matches to the Phenomenal One, Ambrose looked miles removed from genuine title contendership.

He was granted another opportunity this week, and he succeeded. Sure, it took an Ellsworth assist, but Ambrose pinned Styles for the victory, and will now challenge for the WWE World Championship at TLC in December.

It’s a gigantic victory for the Lunatic Fringe. Ambrose has been pinned by Styles in each of their three previous WWE Title matches: coupled with last week, this horrendous record looked to remove him from the title picture for quite a while. Fortunately that wasn’t the case, and TLC has just gained itself a fantastic main event.

Regardless of James Ellsworth’s involvement, Dean Ambrose and AJ Styles bring out the best in each other. Styles has been close to flawless since joining WWE in January, and the wild, unhinged Ambrose has had some of his career’s best matches with the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Last night’s match wasn’t as spectacular as usual, but it was still the best in the card, and a mouthwatering appetizer for their next showdown.
