Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently the biggest star in the UFC not named Conor McGregor.

While he doesn't possess the Irishman's natural charisma or mic skills, the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion is a once in a generation talent, and fans are finally realizing it. He's gone 28-0, and in today's MMA landscape that's next to impossible — especially given the caliber of competition Nurmagomedov has faced.

Who (if anyone) will finally beat Khabib Nurmagomedov? Of course, no one knows for sure, but it's arguably the most compelling question in the sport at the moment.

His fight with McGregor was the most successful UFC event of all-time, having sold 2.4 million pay-per-views. However, his next title defense against Dustin Poirier reportedly sold between 1-2 million pay-per-views, which suggests that Nurmagomedov doesn't need 'The Notorious One' to bring in a ton of viewers.

He's already in McGregor territory as a box office draw, and as long as he stays undefeated, Nurmagomedov's popularity and mainstream notoriety will continue to grow.
