5 Forgotten WWE Debuts Of ECW Icons
4. Jerry Lynn - 1989
Widely considered as one of the most underrated performers of the Attitude Era, Jerry Lynn has performed all over the globe in some of the biggest companies in the wrestling world.
Outside of his hugely successful run in ECW, Jerry Lynn went on to have a memorable run as WWF Light-Heavyweight Champion after ECW closed its doors in 2001; however, that wasn’t his first foray into Vinnie Mac territory.
Lynn had actually had appeared in the WWF on a number of occasions throughout the late 80s and 90s; first appearing opposite Rick Martel in a quick squash match on Superstars in 1989. Lynn would reappear on Superstars two weeks later, this time teaming with Ray Brown as job-fodder for Akeem and Big Bossman, The Twin Towers.
Lynn would return once more on job duty for a pair of bouts in ‘95; firstly against Rad Radford (aka Louie Spicolli) and again opposite The Heavenly Bodies, teaming up with future WCW mid-carder, Lenny Lane, at his side.
The future ECW and ROH World Champ would make his third two match run for WWF in ‘97; losing to Taka Michinoku on Friday Night’s Main Event before finally getting his first W in the WWF by defeating Steve Casey on Shotgun Saturday Night.
