5 HUGE WWE NXT UK Prelude Predictions You Need To Know

On paper, Emilia McKenzie and Meiko Satomura vs. Kay Lee Ray and Isla Dawn sounds weird. It does actually make sense, though.

Kay Lee Ray gloated last Thursday over retaining her NXT UK Women's Championship against Satomura, dubbed 'The Final Boss' of the brand. Instead, she was confronted by Emilia McKenzie - the renamed Millie McKenzie - who essentially cemented herself as the next in line to challenge the reigning champion.

McKenzie was then ambushed by Isla Dawn, KLR's apparent new ally, before being saved by Satomura. Assistant general manager Sid Scala made the match official after this. A very simplistic story is being told here, and yet, it could very well be the story that NXT UK's women's division needs to progress past the 'Kay Lee Ray defeats everyone' phase.

You see, as grand a champion as Kay Lee Ray is, she's going to have to drop that strap eventually. While it would be a nice nod to her supreme work as champion to give her the Asuka treatment, i.e. she instead vacates the title and moves on to full-fat NXT in Florida, Emilia seems to be the one to end her reign.

Granted, this has been said for literally everyone she's faced, but still. NXT UK needs a new young female talent to build up. The former Defiant Wrestling Women's Champion could be that name.
