5. The Ascension Require A Sit-Down Interview With Renee Young
WWE.comSimilar to the July 3rd episode of NXT wherein Tyson Kidd was able to plant all of the final seeds for his heel turn, Konnor and Viktor need to have a sit-down interview with Renee Young to further flesh out their personas. For fully human characters with unique personas, the sit-down interview is a key moment in their pro wrestling career. Another character who used the sit-down interview to add necessary dimensions to their persona was Mick Foley's turn as Mankind, which was greatly aided by sitting down and discussing his motivations to behave as he did with Jim Ross. Renee catching up with Konnor and Viktor and the two of them either taking a turn toward the supernatural and demonic (as the original concept of The Ascension was leaning) or just being hungry wrestlers that devised a persona that would allow them a chance to be different and stand out from the crowd (an intriguing take) or two men who link themselves to other demonic characters in pro wrestling history (Kevin Sullivan, Paul Bearer, Corporate Ministry Undertaker, etc.) would give the characters depth and scope and provide a creative vision that can make them more than the very one-dimensional and somewhat ill-fitting personas (from a storytelling standpoint) that they are at present. If The Ascension is to be soon called up to the main WWE roster, having a more well defined character would be ideal to make that situation more advantageous for the duo.
