5 Key Focus Areas For AEW Dynamite Year 2

1. Avoiding Complacency

AEW are certainly winning the so-called ‘Wednesday Night War’ from a ratings standpoint, having beaten NXT in the key 18-49 demographic every time that the two shows have gone head-to-head bar one. Though Dynamite remains some way off the viewership numbers that are achieved by Raw and SmackDown on a weekly basis, they have proven that there is a viable television market for a different type of wrestling content and will inevitably look to build their viewer base further and encroach on their competition’s A-shows as they continue to cement themselves as a promotion.

They certainly have the tools to do this. Exciting new stars like MJF, Sammy Guevara and Darby Allin are primed to lead the company through the next few years, matchups are kept fresh with long build ups and limited repetition and their culture is consistently attracting top-class new talents from both the WWE and elsewhere.

Given how many of the company’s leading names have worked for Vince McMahon in the past, they’ll know that you can never count him out when going against him. That was WCW’s mistake. Triple H will inevitably have something up his sleeve for his languishing brand, which has struggled without the Full Sail crowd and seems to be losing its freedom to be different from the ‘main roster’

Key for AEW to stay ahead of the game will be constantly coming up with new ideas and not resting on their laurels. They’re certainly more than capable.
