Brock Lesnar Papa Shango

From a 'Big Poppa' to a big Papa, independent outfit Absolute Intense Wrestling flipped the script with their meet-and-greet guest when time came for their Attitude Era import to hit the ring at the group's 'Ain't Nothing But A Gangsta Party' show in Cleveland, Ohio.

Pimping out The Godfather for autographs and pictures with arrested development dads and their confused kids, the evening took a turn for the weird when Charles Wright switched out his blaxploitation clobber for a journey back into WWE's PG past.

Paying homage to the infamous damage he inflicted on the Ultimate Warrior, Mean Gene Okerlund and various other jobbers, Shango ran in and placed a curse upon heel faction The Production. The blusterous bunch were no match for Shango's dark arts, spewing black ooze as the voodoo took hold.

There's a lot to be said for somebody like Wright working through his oft-forgotten gimmicks for an entirely new payday on the thriving independent scene. What's old isn't just new again, it's actively welcomed.

Joey Janela gained praise on these pages for his incredible WrestleMania weekend promotion, whilst OneHourTees et al have made small fortunes slapping all your Da's favourites on shirts for easy sales. From Ho Train to gravy train, the future's bright for Shango sh*te.
