5 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (June 22)

1. Big Cass Out On His...

In news that sent shockwaves surging through the wrestling community on Tuesday, WWE released Big Cass without so much as a copy and pasted "future endeavours" message on the dot com story.

Allegedly, various indiscretions grew harder for Vince McMahon to ignore. Cass took to drinking in public, disregarding creative directives, and also committed an etiquette no-no by breaking the toilet door on a tour bus because, hilariously, he didn't know how to unlock it. Christ, even Ryback could have managed that. Then again, he couldn't break an apple with his hand, so probably not.

It's easy to infer that Cass grew full of himself from the Full Sail pops, became entitled, and deemed the bare minimum enough to coast on his height, but it's also easy to kick the guy he's down. As tempting as it is to make jokes - see above - it's perhaps important to consider the evidence provided by various "sources". If Cass is drinking heavily and publicly, and lashing out, perhaps the disintegration of two personal friendships has profoundly impacted his professional life. WWE didn't wish Cass well in his future endeavours, but one can only hope that, if this drinking is beyond recreation, the company has at least offered Cass an inroad into its rehabilitation programme.

The Realest Guys In The Room; American Alpha; The Revival; The Authors Of Pain...what's insane is that The Ascension, relative to the strength of the act, are probably the best-protected tag team promoted from NXT. What a strange company.

What a strange, sh*tty company.
