2. Nia Jax HALF-CHEERED?!

At Sunday's Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, Asuka defended her WrestleMania 'Championship Opportunity' against Nia Jax, who ordinarily inspires little but apathy. Not so on the night: several pockets of the audience weren't like most crowds, throwing their support behind the Irresistible Force most manage to resist.

This reaction followed just six days after Asuka was forced to perform in a dire and unflattering verbal segment. Is it too cynical to suggest that those Las Vegas fans turned on Asuka for an ability to speak English folowing last week's RAW - or did Nia suddenly become good overnight? Or are fans tiring of the undefeated streak gimmick, while simultaneously complaining that wins and losses do not matter any more? In any event, the crowd reaction was crazy, or at least completely atypical. What were they cheering for, in any case? Nia almost shattering Asuka's kneecaps through clumsiness?

Equally insane was the post-match angle, in which Jax destroyed Asuka and her mystique by throwing her through a ringside barricade. Is Nia Jax set to end up in yet another unwarranted 'Mania slot, or is this just WWE doing WWE things and booking it so that Nia "gets her heat back?" Since they booked the exact same post-match angle after the Men's Elimination Chamber match, it's arguably - hopefully - the latter.
