4. ANOTHER Disgusting Promotional Tactic

This article is written throughout the working week, and this week, a special slot was reserved in order to react to the seemingly inevitable relocation/postponement/cancellation of WWE Crown Jewel, which would represent an insane development. WWE doesn't sacrifice money for moral pretence just every day.

One could argue that it never has.

And WWE had to cancel Crown Jewel. As the body parts of murdered Saudi dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi were purportedly exhumed, even POTUS Donald Trump could no longer brazenly flaunt this disgusting contravention of international diplomacy. He declared this the worst cover-up of all time. The story refuses to go away, and in parallel, rumours of a relocation to Albany, New York or Manchester, England intensified. John Cena, meanwhile, has reportedly refused to work the event in fear of his nascent mainstream reputation.

With Twitter in a constant state of refresh, a draft of the list entry appeared in the mind's eye. Good on WWE for bursting its own bubble. Good on WWE for acknowledging the anxieties of a roster without which it would be nothing. Good on WWE for finally backing up its PR posturing with an actual spine. Good on John Cena for finally bloody selling something.

Aaaaaaaaand none of this happened; instead, WWE is multiplying the problematic event, which is still going ahead in Saudi Arabia, by having Hulk Hogan appear on it!

In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel, Hogan claims that he's "looking forward to going to Saudi Arabia with the WWE", as the company apparently intends to simply fashion Saudi as a sort of no-f*cks-given alternate universe. Or perhaps Hogan, who we all know wants his daughter to date an, ahem, "rich" man, is on some sort of scouting mission in a moneyed land.

Hogan used to fight for the rights of every man. He had to take a stand, apparently, but dead brothers don't count, brother!
