5 New Booking Directions For Former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal
3. Jinder Mahal
One of the main problems Jinder Mahal has faced over the last six months is that his matches - despite top billing - have largely failed to catch fire, something that can perhaps be attributed to his sometimes meek and timid approach in the ring.
This criticism will be familiar to many wrestlers who have occupied that space between big man and outright giant over recent years, in particular Wade Barrett, who was routinely (and unfairly; it wasn't really his call) accused of practising a style that somehow didn't befit his near seven-foot frame.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out why these guys have been neutered in this way. Brock Lesnar and, over recent months, Braun Strowman have simply cornered the market on heavy power moves; if everyone started doing them, they'd lose some of their shine.
But, since bulking up in the early part of last year, Jinder is absolutely huge (and perhaps the biggest guy on SmackDown outside Rusev). It makes sense for him to throw guys around the ring - and a few new moves, together with some fear in the eyes of his opponents, surely can't hurt in his efforts to reinvent himself.
