5 Predictions For UFC 195

1. Robbie Lawler (C) Vs. Carlos Condit

Weight Class: Welterweight Buckle up, because this one may be brutal. Robbie Lawler (26€“10, 1NC), finally fighting someone not named Johny Hendricks, put on a classic title defense against Rory MacDonald at UFC 189. Until MacDonald fell in the fifth round after his nose began to look something like a mashed potato, he had actually been winning that fight - so make no mistake, Lawler is beatable. Will Carlos Condit (30-8) be the man to do it? Condit has had a title shot before, losing to Georges St. Pierre in a great title fight at UFC 154. Condit has been up and down since then, in part due to a knee injury suffered in his fight against Tyron Woodley. However, in his first fight back, which earned him this title shot, he absolutely destroyed Thiago Alves. Both these men are creative, violent strikers, so this has classic written all over it. Given the recent trend of UFC titles changing hands, it wouldn't be surprising to see it happen here. If Condit looks like he did against Alves, look for him to take the victory and the title. Condit by a (bloody) decision after five hard fought rounds.
