5 Reasons The Undertaker's WWE Retirement Will Stick (& 5 Reasons It Won't)
2. WILL: It's Just So Poetic
The Undertaker has alway been one to let the theatrics do the talking for him. His promos are understated and heavily symbolic. Taker has always been more about how he appears than what he says.
At Survivor Series, the incomparable career of WWE's greatest creation came to an end in poetic fashion. Nearly 30 years to the date a fresh-faced Calaway was introduced to the WWE by Ted DiBiase, at the very same pay-per-view where he debuted, he said goodbye. Everything came full circle in a moment of kismet that isn't likely to repeat itself.
Taker was even joined by a spectral hologram of his late manager and friend Paul Bearer, projected into the ring beside him. It was touching, though surreal, detail that WWE is unlikely to resort to again. With all the production, care, and coincidence involved, this really does feel like a destined ending.
