1. Studio Wrestling Lives Again

Studio wrestling has a long history and was a very popular practise in previous generations. It is the taping of several wrestling shows in the same location week-to-week and is typically held in smaller studio spaces that are good to go with the many cameras and production tools required.

This mode of production drastically cuts down costs for travelling shows but more importantly, it makes for a special, more intimate atmosphere with a smaller, closer to the action crowd.

From Corgan himself: “The thing that sticks out in my mind about studio wrestling, particularly in the 1970s and '80s, was anything could really happen. You had people getting up very early in the morning, Saturday morning kids' television, and it had a real feeling of chaos and anarchy. That really sold to me, as a fan, that there was an element of danger, and an element of ‘anything can happen’. I really wanted to bring that back to professional wrestling, and I think that the NWA is the perfect vehicle to do that.”

Many studies have found that unpredictability is one of the main things TV audiences look out for and NWA is working to provide that sense of spontaneity every week.
