5 Signs WWE Champion Brock Lesnar's Return To MMA Is Imminent

2. He Has Unfinished Business

Three fighters Lesnar has previously faced - and two that he has beaten - have called him out in the past year. Alistair Overeem (who beat Lesnar in his final fight), Shane Carwin (who Lesnar beat), and Frank Mir (both of whom have a win over the other) all called out Lesnar in 2014. Carwin is retired; Mir and Overeem are still active (Carwin would come back for the fight if the money was right however). All three of these men represent a big money fight for Lesnar. Mir is at the end of his career but still has a name, and it would be the third fight in a trilogy. Overeem failed a drug test after the Lesnar fight, and the case has been made that the fight should have been ruled a No Contest after the fact based on the terms of Overeem's conditional fight license, but the NSAC declined to review the matter. And Carwin came close to beating Lesnar in the first round of their fight before tiring out and finding himself submitted in the second. When it comes to these call-outs, however, Lesnar generally declined comment. However, Heyman stated that when it came to Overeem's call-out and Brock's reaction;
He was unimpressed. He thought Alistair should call out people who are in the UFC and people he could draw money with.
That said, there's no doubt the loss is one Lesnar would like to take back. He took a kick to the intestines while still recovering from diverticulitis, a kick from a world-class kickboxer whose testosterone levels later tested off the charts.
