5 Signs WWE Champion Brock Lesnar's Return To MMA Is Imminent
5. Paul Heyman Has Been Dropping Hints
Brock Lesnar is a pretty quiet guy when it comes to his personal life. He doesn't have a huge entourage either; he keeps his friends close (and generally destroys his enemies, so they're no help). One man we do know that has a long history with Lesnar is Paul Heyman. They've been paired on screen for a long time, and that has developed into an off-screen relationship as well. In fact, Heyman only agreed to go back to the WWE because of Lesnar. If you want to look for clues as to what Brock Lesnar is thinking, listen to Paul Heyman. Heyman has, is recent months, been talking about Lesnar's UFC career. Dropping little hints, if you will. Speaking on the MMA Hour, Heyman suggested that Lesnar's return from diverticulitis came too soon, and that he wasn't ready for Alistair Overeem;
A liver kick, well placed, will drop anyone and a liver kick from Alistair Overeem, at that size and that weight, no matter how he attained it, or even if he was 50 pounds lighter, a liver kick from Overeem will drop a horse. I don't think Brock has truly understood nor accepted the severity of the illness that took him down. They did blood work on Brock and they found out he wasn't healthy for many, many years. His body was fighting this affliction off and using so much of his energy.
And to Fox Sports, he had this to say:
He feels great. He's healthy. His body is not spending so much energy fighting off diverticulitis. He's healthy for the first time in years and I think his potential is limitless. He's a once-in-a-lifetime athlete. This is Jim Thorpe, Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Gordie Howe, Wayne Gretzky, this is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete.
With all this talk about Lesnar and MMA coming from Heyman, you just have to wonder...
