5 Star Wrestling - 10 Interesting Observations From Newcastle

6. Jay Lethal Really Is ROH World Champion

One of the biggest non-WWE wrestlers on the planet today, Jay Lethal proved himself the true ROH World Champion, bringing his title belt all the way up to the North East of England and displaying it proudly for those in attendance. As mentioned previously, Black Machismo's match with Rey was sadly cut a little short - but that didn't stop Lethal from entertaining the crowd with his infectious charisma (despite his status as a heel, of course). The pair showed their experience and packed a lot of entertaining stuff into their allocated slot, including several teases of the 619. When it finally hit, it got one of the biggest pops of the night. The finish involved AJ Styles, who came out to distract Rey, only for Mysterio to get the better of the two heels. Unwilling to lose the match, Jay opted instead to brain Rey with his ROH title - and, needless to say, was disqualified.
