5 Things WWE Cinematic Matches Should NOT Do (And 5 Things They SHOULD Do)

7. DON’T: Make Them A Monthly Routine

Cinematic is the new standard. We get one per pay-per-view now, and it has been that way since WrestleMania. For an idea that was originally refined as a remedy for global-situation-sadness, dropping one per month by default seems a little counter-intuitive.

Putting all other criticisms aside, one must respect the uncertainty and anxiety a global bastard can exert over a company, and the resulting pressure placed on each employee. It’s been well documented as of late. Bluntly put, does WWE even have the creative juices to engineer no less than one cinematic spectacle every four (approx.) weeks, on top of their already busy and notably chaotic weekly taping schedule?

If they can’t, it’s not their fault, and they’d be better off putting more stock in the bigger tribulations of their weekly programming. If they get stuck for good ideas, are they going to churn out a disasterpiece regardless? Likewise, if they have moments of creative clarity, are they just going to stir them in with the consistent murk of everything else happening?

Better that they go sparingly with these matches. Fans would appreciate it more.
