5 Ups & 10 Downs From WWE Royal Rumble 2022

Downs…

10. Lashley Immobilized

Even if you set aside the interference in the WWE Championship match as being overbooked, you have to take note of how long Bobby Lashley had to sell during that ga-ga.

Brock Lesnar nailed an F-5 after escaping the Hurt Lock, but he inadvertently wiped out the referee, leaving only a visual pinfall. But then Roman Reigns ran down and speared Lesnar, wiped him out with the title belt, and walked off with Paul Heyman. All this time, Lashley had to lay on the mat like he had been shot.

While this isn’t a huge sin, it still is a pretty noticeable thing. It shouldn’t detract from Bobby’s big win, but they shouldn’t have booked such a long down period after a single F-5.
