It has been several weeks since SmackDown delivered a truly exciting main event. The men’s Money In The Bank participants have produced several lacklustre affairs lately, but last night’s offering was a step in the right direction, and all six participants looked energised.

With Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens, and Dolph Ziggler on the heel side and Shinsuke Nakamura, AJ Styles, and Sami Zayn across from them, SD signed-off on the night’s biggest high. They kept things fast-paced throughout, resulting in a bout that felt urgent and important, which is exactly what the group needed ahead of their big ladder match on Sunday.

They worked towards a satisfying conclusion, with Zayn scoring yet another pinfall on Corbin, before the heels grabbed ladders and beat the babyfaces down. ‘The Lone Wolf’ made a beeline for the briefcase, but Nakamura recovered to topple his ladder, then retrieved the prize as the show when off the air.

While Corbin is a heavy betting favourite, the closing scene brings unpredictability to MITB. Zayn, Corbin, and Nakamura were all presented as potential winners, but regardless of who walks away with the briefcase, this group is too talented for the match to be anything less than great.
