5 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (Jan 26 - Results & Review)

Downs...

2. Not A Rematch Worth Waiting For

Austin Theory Carmelo Hayes

Austin Theory vs. Carmelo Hayes was a re-run following their nasty non-finish that mercifully didn't result in serious injuries two weeks ago. Sadly, it didn't really achieve anything in the end. That includes one Trick Williams showing up to have Carmelo's back despite tensions between them.

It's hard to get invested in that side of things when Trick quite clearly has more important matters to take care of on NXT. He'll challenge Ilja Dragunov for the belt at Vengeance Day soon, so that'll surely prevent him from becoming a SmackDown regular anyway. In short, what was the point?

WWE isn't really doing enough with Theory and Grayson Waller as a team either, which is a shame. They seemed to have real potential when first coming together, but all the company has done is mire them in useless feuds against Kevin Owens and now Hayes.

Things could be better, put it that way.
