5. A New Direction For Ethan Page

Ethan Page
AEW

He loves blurring the lines, Ethan Page, so when he tweeted about making last week's episode of Rampage as a "change of pace at work", it was clear that a work was afoot. So it transpired last night.

The (former) Man of the Year cut a to-the-point in-ring promo questioning why he isn't on television every week, doesn't have an action figure, and isn't on the company bus. "Why? Why? Why?!" he shouted, not noticing that Stokely Hathaway was sidling into the ring behind him. As Ethan claimed that AEW was leaving money on the table but not putting him on Dynamite every week, Big Stoke made his play, asked 'All Ego' what he was doing, and had a word in his ear. Page took the business card, seemingly enticed away from Dan Lambert by AEW's new power manager.

It's an interesting new direction for a wrestler who definitely needed one. Page is a good promo with great television mannerisms and looked excellent in his squash of Leon Ruffin on Rampage. Hathaway, meanwhile, hasn't yet given away what he's up to, having targeted Lee Moriarity prior to pursuing Page.

We'll find out soon enough.
