5 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Rampage (July 14)

Rampage sets up Battle Of The Belts; AEW books a comeback; Johnny TV gets wet.

This week's AEW Rampage concerned itself with finalising a few matches for Saturday's (post-Collision) Battle Of The Belts VII special. Tony Khan added Women's and International Title bouts to the lineup, but there's still no World Title representation on one of these things - not AEW's World Title, at least.

That's a bit of a bummer, but it doesn't look like that'll ever happen now the series is seven shows deep. On the plus side, Rampage busily set up events to come on Collision and even promoted something that's going to happen on next week's episode. That's practically unheard of, but it's very, very welcome.

AEW booked a ton of content throughout the hour too. Rampage had five matches, and there was even time for an in-ring duelling promo between Toni Storm and Taya Valkyrie. Overall, this was a super-efficient use of 60 minutes, which isn't always something anyone can say about the Friday night weekly.

So, what worked and what didn't? That's the million dollar question. Here's all the good and bad from the show, including humdrum returns and Kenny Omega's pals getting battered before 'Blood & Guts'.
