5 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling Rebellion 2020 (Part 2)

4. The Right Call

With Tessa Blanchard and Eddie Edwards unable to be at Rebellion, it left Michael Elgin without a match for the evening, and also unable to lift the Impact World Championship. 'Big Mike' insisted on having his arm raised by the referee while ring announcer David Penzer announced him as the new champion, only for Moose to enter. Unveiling his robe, 'Mr Impact Wrestling' revealed the old TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

We'll get to the main event for the championship in just a bit, but undoubtedly this was the right call. It was certainly a surprise to see the TNA championship brought back into the mix of things, however, it's a positive note for two main reasons. Firstly, it's one of the most underappreciated titles in wrestling in terms of its look, especially when you think about some of the names who had held it. Secondly, we need a top champion in the company to be present. If that means bringing back an old title, then so be it.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the TNA championship once Tessa Blanchard returns to the company - a title unification match perhaps?
