5 Ups & 3 Downs From Last Night's NXT (Aug 5)

I've been really, really critical on the Santos Escobar booking for a while now, but this might be the week where it felt like it clicked into place. If they're going to run this like some sort of A̶b̶s̶o̶l̶u̶t̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶N̶o̶t̶ ̶D̶r̶u̶g̶ Wrestling Cartel, then we need to get both their ethos and what a threat they are. Going after Breezango for a perceived disrespect of Lucha Libre history is smart, but actually having Wilde and Mendoza hand out the beating is even smarter.

Week 1 they felt like South American J&J Security, but after this week they feel like a bonafide pair of badasses in their own right. There's no reason they can't add the tag-team gold to Escobar's Cruiserweight Championship somewhere down the line as well.
