WWE seemingly has a really good thing with the reinvention of the Street Profits in Bobby Lashley’s preferred image, but they’re playing a dangerous game.

Lashley, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins lost a six-man tag match to the LWO at Fastlane when Carlito made his return to aid Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar. The All Mighty-led faction has stumbled with direction a bit after a really intriguing start, with the group seemingly facillating between face and heel, though it was explained that Lashley wanted the Profits to channel their aggression and get serious, or else he was done with them.

Losing Saturday night could be a catalyst for the group to really embrace the heel side, or it could prompt an edict from Lashley that yields results. But the risk here – and what merits a down – is that losing matches early in their formative days could brand the group. And no amount of cool suits and poses will undo that.

It’s too early to deem this a booking failure, but it’s being designated as a caution at this stage.
